PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

June 2 2025 to June 8 2025

Monday June 2

In 1953, the world watched as the young Elizabeth II was crowned Queen

Back in 1953, the world watched as the young Elizabeth II was crowned Queen. The event, which was broadcast to an audience of over 200 million, is credited with making television a mainstream medium. Until then, most people were listening to radios rather than watching screens. In our media-driven world, when it's hard to know who to trust, those times seem to hold an innocence we miss. But by sharing good news today, we can impact people around us. And that's the way to start positive change.

Tuesday June 3

Best-laid Plans may go awry

Today, as Mercury (intellect) makes a positive link with retrograde Pluto, don't be surprised if best-laid plans go awry. With both planets currently positioned in air signs, the potential for transformative ideas is high. So, if things go pear-shaped, they're going pear-shaped for a good reason! As long as we're prepared to adapt and go with the flow, we'll be able to see into the hidden heart of matters. And with a change of perspective, we'll discover ways forward that we haven't thought of before.

Wednesday June 4

Emily Davison's fight for the vote

Emily Davison fought for the right for women to vote. On Derby Day, back in 1913, she leapt onto the racetrack, and, while attempting to fix a suffragette flag to a race horse, lost her life. A return train ticket found in her possession suggests she wasn't intending to martyr herself. But the impact of her dramatic gesture played a part in the success of her cause. Luckily, no such gestures are needed today. As Venus prepares to change signs, small, even unseen acts can have significant consequences.

Thursday June 5

Montgolfier Brothers make the first human flight

World Environmental Day brings millions of people together to work on ways to safeguard, sustain, and restore our planet. Today is also the anniversary of the Montgolfier Brothers making the first human flight in their hot-air balloon. Their early attempts were deemed too dangerous for humans, so their first passengers were a sheep, a duck and a rooster! When they survived, people were allowed on board! In this cosmic climate, productive, creative, life-changing ideas can lift off.

Friday June 6

Venus comes home to Taurus

Today, Venus (love and beauty) moves into its celestial home, Taurus. And over the weekend, Mercury (intellect and ideas) takes up residence in home-loving Cancer. But it's the energy created before the winged messenger changes signs that's going to dominate. Its conjunction with Jupiter creates a spark of enthusiasm which brings the energy to push forward with inspiring ideas and find playful ways to make progress. By sharing our dreams, we'll find the encouragement to realise them.
